Senior Accounts Manager

Our client is an established and expanding Garden and Retail Centre based in East Sussex. A vacancy has arisen for a Senior Accounts Manager to join their busy and expanding team.

The ideal Senior Accounts Manager will have demonstrable experience within a similar role preferably using Sage Accounts and Payroll. As a Senior Accounts Manager you will be developing budgets and financial plans, as well as handling VAT, PAYE and tax duties also monthly management accounts.

Due to the location of the position a full driving licence and your own transport would be required.

The ideal Senior Accounts Manager will hold the following skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrable experience within a similar role
  • Possess a recognised Accounting qualification
  • Able to use Sage Accounting and Payroll software
  • Experience of making B.A.C.S payments
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work to strict deadlines whilst paying close attention to detail
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities

Your duties as a Senior Accounts Manager will include:

  • Preparing annual financial statements
  • Managing sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting and all general ledger entries
  • Handling VAT, PAYE and tax duties
  • Perform Bank reconciliations
  • Credit Control
  • Developing budgets and financial plans
  • Managing rents of on-site businesses and property
  • Creating profit and loss reports for any new project
  • Ensuring cash flows are maintained and reported, reflecting any changes
  • Expenses accounting and monitoring
  • Taking responsibility for ensuring that financial processes, systems, and controls are operating effectively and driving continuous improvement
  • Preparing monthly management accounts
  • Project management of process changes and implementations
  • Performing a key role in the budgeting, planning and forecasting for the business operation
  • Managing payroll and pension contributions and compliance for salaried staff and remuneration for subcontract teams
  • Working with Operational Team to improve procurement
  • Preparation of year end accounts for submittal to Accounts.


£27,000 to £35,000 per annum depending on experience
