1st Line Technician

Our client is an established IT support and solutions provider who has over 20 years’ experience within the industry. They are currently looking for a 1st Line Technician to join their friendly and hardworking service team.

As a 1st Line Technician you will work closely with the base of new and existing clients supporting, maintaining and improving their IT infrastructure. The ideal 1st Line Technician will have demonstrable experience within a similar role, possess excellent customer service skills and have a passion for technology.  

The ideal 1st Line Technician will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Demonstrable experience with in a similar role
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Have the ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Be efficient diagnosis skills of technical issues
  • Service awareness of all organisation’s key IT services for which support is being provided
  • Understand support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • Positive and passionate about technology
  • Accreditations in some IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, is desirable

Your duties as a 1st Line Technician will include:

  • IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft's core business applications on both Desktop
  • Windows Server and O365 housekeeping and admin
  • Technical services and support at the network level: basic LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls
  • Support of applications such as MS Office and Antivirus products
  • Shared ownership of the Helpdesk Service Board and ensure the service KPIs are within acceptable tolerances
  • Work in order of SLA and priority of tickets
  • Shared responsibility for dealing with NOC
  • Project resource on occasional projects where experience and skills are best suited
  • On boarding and off boarding clients when required.
  • Installation work including PC, routers, printers and AV deployments
  • Improve customer service, perception, and satisfaction
  • Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the service catalogue and how it relates to customer’s needs
  • System documentation

Salary and Rewards Package:

  • £18,000 - £22,000 per annum depending on experience
