National Living / Minimum Wage Rates

From 1st October 2016 the new rates will be:

 

25 years old and over                           £7.20 per hour (applied on 1st April 2016 – no increase)

21 – 24 years old                                  £6.95 per hour (3.7% increase)

18 – 20 years old                                  £5.55 per hour (4.7% increase)

16 – 17 years old                                  £4.00 per hour (3.4% increase)

Apprentices under 19, 19 or over        £3.40 per hour (3.00% increase)

 

(The rate applies to apprentices aged 16 to 18 and those aged 19 or over that are in their first year. All other apprentices are entitled to the national minimum wage for their age.)

 

 

 

Previous pay rates from 01st October 2015 to 30th September 2016:

 

25 years old and over                    £7.20 per hour (applied on 1st April 2016)

Aged 21 to 24                                by 20p an hour to £6.70

Aged 18 to 20                                by 17p an hour to £5.30

Aged under 18                               by 8p an hour to £3.87

Apprentices                                   by 57p an hour to £3.30

 

(The rate applies to apprentices aged 16 to 18 and those aged 19 or over that are in their first year. All other apprentices are entitled to the national minimum wage for their age.)
