National Living Wage and National Minimum Wage Rates

National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage Rates

From 1st April 2017 the new rates will be:

  • 25 years old and over                           £7.50 per hour (by 4.2% ; 30p p/h)
     
  • 21 – 24 years old                                     £7.05 per hour (by 1.4% ; 10p p/h)
     
  • 18 – 20 years old                                     £5.60 per hour (by 0.9% ; 5p p/h)
     
  • 16 – 17 years old                                     £4.05 per hour (by 1.3% ; 5p p/h)
     
  • Apprentices Under 19, 19 or over        £3.50 per hour (by 2.9% ; 10p p/h)

 

(This rate applies to apprentices aged 16 to 18 and those aged 19 or over that are in their first year. All other apprentices are entitled to the national minimum wage for their age.)

 

 

 

Previous Pay rates from 01st October 2016 to 31st March 2017:

  • 25 years old and over                           £7.20 per hour (applied on 1st April 2016)
     
  • 21 – 24 years old                                     £6.95 per hour
     
  • 18 – 20 years old                                     £5.55 per hour
     
  • 16 – 17 years old                                     £4.00 per hour
     
  • Apprentices                                            £3.40 per hour

 

(This rate applies to apprentices aged 16 to 18 and those aged 19 or over that are in their first year. All other apprentices are entitled to the national minimum wage for their age.)
