Operations Manager


Our client is an established construction company based within East Sussex. They cover all aspects of building work, from new builds to refurbishments, working across the South East. A vacancy has arisen for an Operations Manager to join their busy and hardworking team.


The ideal Operations Manager will have demonstrable experience within a similar operations role; possess strong people management skills as well as a high level of understanding of construction materials. You will also have good experience in construction health and safety as well as the ability to write RAMS.

As an Operations Manager you will work closely with the project management team, coordinating and attending team meetings, as well as procuring construction materials and producing risk assessments for projects.


Due to the location of the vacancy you will need a full driving licence and own transport.

The ideal Operations Manager will hold the following skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrable experience within an operations role
  • Experience within the domestic construction sector with experience of small one-off builds
  • Ability to write RAMS
  • Experience in construction health and safety
  • Strong people management skills
  • Possess a high level of understanding of construction materials
  • Work on your own initiative and as a team player
  • Have a good eye for detail
  • Proficient user of MS Excel, Word and Outlook

Your duties as an Operations Manager will include:

  • Working closely with the project management team
  • Coordinating and attending regular team meetings, taking notes and progressing agreed actions
  • Procurement of construction materials and gathering pricing data for analysis
  • Producing Risk Assessments and Method Statements pack for our projects
  • Day to day management of the work schedule and job programmes
  • Ensuring all vehicles and plant are serviced and available
  • Forward planning of materials, labour and plant for each individual project
  • Tender package preparation
  • Control of individual project budgets (Materials and Labour)
  • Reviewing all material prices and supply chain
  • Contract administration to clients, employees, self-employed and contractors
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement

Salary and Rewards Package:

  • £30,000 per annum
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Pension Plan after 3 months of service


Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm

40 Hours per week
